Apple’s HomeView Launches in Four Colors—Wall Mount Version Limited to Two

Apple’s freshly revealed smart home hub, HomeView, arrives in four colors—but there’s a twist depending on which model you pick.

The tabletop HomeView will ship in silver, space gray, rose pink, and starlight. Each unit includes a USB-C cable color-matched to the finish. The design combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with an anodized aluminum body perched atop a domed speaker base, complete with a stainless steel hinge so the screen can tilt forward. This makes it ideal for placement on a countertop, side table, or nightstand. The wall-mounted variant retains the same 7-inch display and uses mounts made by Schneider Home. However, color options for the wall model are pared down: buyers can choose only silver or space gray, while the rose pink and starlight finishes are exclusive to the tabletop version.

Both versions of HomeView are priced at $299 in the U.S. Each becomes available on November 13.

Why the Color Split?

The limited palette for the wall-mounted HomeView likely reflects practical constraints such as mount compatibility, production complexity, or visual coherence with wall installations. On the other hand, offering four color options for the freestanding model gives consumers more choice for surface display settings.

HomeView at a Glance

As Apple’s entry into the smart home hub space, HomeView aims to centralize control of home automation, media, and communication—integrating display, sound, and hands-free interaction. With its hinged, adjustable screen, the tabletop version offers flexibility in positioning, while the wall model offers a cleaner, space-saving design. Pricing parity between the two models and the launch date suggest Apple sees both configurations as equally important in its smart home ecosystem.

This rollout continues Apple’s push into integrating home control into its hardware lineup. With smart hubs becoming more central to the connected home experience, design choices—such as finish options and model form factor—are critical to user adoption.

What to Watch: whether the limited colors for the wall-mounted HomeView affect consumer preference, how the finishes stand up in real home lighting, and whether accessories like mounts or power supplies will become more varied. Also worth noting will be availability outside the U.S., where regional preferences and logistics often influence product variations.
