Apple is set to introduce its first-ever touchscreen MacBook Pro models, which will be powered by the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These new laptops are expected to debut between late 2026 and early 2027, marking a significant shift in Apple’s MacBook lineup.
The upcoming MacBook Pros will feature OLED displays and come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. Additionally, they will incorporate the Dynamic Island design, replacing the current notch, and will showcase an updated industrial design—the first major visual overhaul since 2021.
While the initial touchscreen MacBook Pros will utilize the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, Apple plans to release models equipped with the M7 chip, optimized for AI workloads, starting in late 2027.
