Apple has already unveiled 11 new hardware products in 2026, with more in store. The year kicked off with the AirTag 2 in January, followed by a major wave of launches in March, and two updated Mac models in August. On the horizon: what’s expected at the company’s next big event.
Early Year Launches: AirTag 2
The very first release came on January 26, when Apple introduced the second-generation AirTag. It features a new Ultra Wideband chip that increases Precision Finding range by up to 50%, a louder built-in speaker, an extended Bluetooth range, and compatibility for Precision Finding from supported Apple Watch models. Pricing remains at US$29 for a single unit and US$99 for a four-pack.
March: The Most Product-Heavy Month
March was the peak of Apple’s rollout so far, with eight new devices revealed. First among them: the iPhone 17e, starting at US$599, which now begins at 256 GB storage and adds upgrades including the A19 chip, C1X modem, MagSafe support, and a new soft pink color option.
Apple also refreshed the iPad Air line with the M4 chip in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, upgraded it with 12 GB of RAM, and built in the C1X cellular modem and N1 wireless chip. That was followed by an expansive MacBook launch: the M5 MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro in M5 Pro and M5 Max versions, plus both the updated Studio Display and the all-new Studio Display XDR. Rounding out March was the MacBook Neo—Apple’s lowest-priced Mac notebook at around US$699—powered by the A18 Pro chip. The final March addition was AirPods Max 2, which brings major enhancements like improved noise cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Live Translation, and other features previously absent from the Max lineup.
August: Macs Take Center Stage
On August 25, Apple unveiled updates to both the Mac mini and Mac Studio. The new Mac mini offers a choice between the M6 or M5 Pro chip, faster storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and standard 2.5 Gb Ethernet, with prices starting at US$899. The Mac Studio steps up to M5 Max or M5 Ultra silicon, and its highest-end model supports up to 512 GB of unified memory. These machines are now available for pre-order, with delivery scheduled to begin on September 22.
What’s Next: September Event Expectations
Apple has scheduled a “Surprise and shine” product event for September 9. Leaks and rumors point toward several major launches: the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, what could be the first foldable iPhone, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5 are all anticipated.
Apple’s launch cadence this year has been unusually aggressive—new devices in Q1 and Q3 bookending a relatively quiet summer. With Apple’s September event just weeks away, the lineup could reshape its hardware portfolio significantly.
