Apple to Launch ‘Apple Upgrade’ Program Next Week

Apple is set to introduce a new financing initiative called the ‘Apple Upgrade’ program in the United States, starting Tuesday, July 28. This program, developed in partnership with Klarna, aims to provide customers with flexible payment options for a range of Apple products, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches.

Under the ‘Apple Upgrade’ program, customers can finance their purchases over a 24-month period for iPhones and Apple Watches, and over 36 months for iPads and Macs. Participants will have the flexibility to pay off their devices early, upgrade to newer models before the term ends, or retain their devices upon completion of the payment period.

It’s important to note that certain lower-priced devices, such as the Apple Watch SE, the entry-level iPad, the iPhone 16, and the MacBook Neo, will not be eligible for this program. Additionally, unlike the existing iPhone Upgrade Program, the ‘Apple Upgrade’ program will not include AppleCare+ coverage as part of the financing plan.

With the launch of this new program, Apple plans to discontinue new sign-ups for the current iPhone Upgrade Program. This shift indicates a strategic move by Apple to streamline its financing options and offer a more comprehensive solution that encompasses a broader range of products.

By expanding its financing options through the ‘Apple Upgrade’ program, Apple is enhancing accessibility to its products, allowing customers to manage their purchases more effectively. This approach not only caters to a wider audience but also aligns with the growing trend of flexible payment solutions in the tech industry.
