Apple to Launch ‘Apple Upgrade’ Leasing Program Next Week

Apple is set to introduce a new leasing initiative called ‘Apple Upgrade’ on July 28, 2026. This program aims to provide customers with a subscription-like model for acquiring Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches.

In collaboration with Klarna, Apple Upgrade will require a soft credit check for participants. The program offers flexible leasing terms: 24 months for iPhones and Apple Watches, and 36 months for Macs. Notably, certain models such as the Apple Watch SE, base model iPad, iPhone 16, and MacBook Neo are excluded from this program.

Participants will have multiple options at the end of their lease term: they can pay off the device early, upgrade to a newer model, or return the device. Some of these actions may involve additional fees. Unlike the existing iPhone Upgrade Program, Apple Upgrade does not include AppleCare coverage. Consequently, Apple plans to discontinue new enrollments in the iPhone Upgrade Program upon the launch of Apple Upgrade.

With recent price increases across Apple’s product lines, this new leasing program offers consumers a more manageable way to access the latest Apple technology. By spreading the cost over a fixed period, Apple Upgrade could make high-end devices more accessible to a broader audience.
