Apple’s Siri AI is about to get more voice diversity. Following the addition of French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish under iOS 27.2, four additional languages—Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese—will be added by the end of 2026. This update is expected to arrive with iOS 27.3, likely shipping in December.
Growing Language Support for Siri AI
Until now, Siri AI was only available in English. With iOS 27.2, Apple expanded its capabilities by adding support for five more languages: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. This brings the total to six supported languages.
The next expansion targets Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese. All four are slated to roll out “by the end of the year,” with iOS 27.3 being the probable vehicle. The first developer or public beta for iOS 27.3 may arrive in coming weeks.
What About China?
Even though Traditional Chinese support is on the way for Siri AI, the assistant isn’t set to launch in China immediately. Some initial Apple Intelligence features are planned for China in the iOS 27.3 release, but Siri AI itself won’t be part of the early lineup for that region.
Support for Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese will significantly broaden Siri AI’s reach, reflecting Apple’s continuing push to make its smart assistant more globally accessible. Users already using Siri AI in the newly introduced languages will likely find similarities—or differences—to the forthcoming ones.
Why this matters: adding support for languages like Vietnamese and Turkish could open up tens of millions of users to full Siri AI capabilities, which include intelligent voice-based interaction, local device processing, and tightly integrated features across Apple’s ecosystem. iOS 27.3 may also introduce additional Apple Intelligence features; bringing them to more regions and tongues reinforces Apple’s ambition to compete globally in AI-powered assistants.
What to watch: which regions will get iOS 27.3 first, how accurate Siri AI is in its new languages, and whether Apple expands into Simplified Chinese or adds more regional languages beyond the four already announced.
