Apple has agreed to a $250 million settlement to resolve a U.S. class action lawsuit concerning the delayed launch of enhanced Siri features. Eligible iPhone users may receive compensation of up to $95.
In June 2024, Apple introduced new Siri capabilities powered by Apple Intelligence, showcasing features like personal context understanding and deeper app integration. These enhancements were promoted through various channels, including a television commercial featuring actor Bella Ramsey.
However, in March 2025, Apple postponed the release of these personalized Siri features, leading to allegations of false advertising. To address these claims, Apple opted to settle the lawsuit, emphasizing its commitment to delivering innovative products and services to users.
Eligibility for compensation includes U.S. residents who purchased any of the following iPhone models between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
While physical possession of the device may not be necessary to submit a claim, proof of purchase or device serial numbers could be required. Specific submission guidelines will be provided on the forthcoming settlement website.
Compensation amounts are set at $25 per eligible device, with the potential to increase up to $95 depending on the number of claims filed.
A settlement website is expected to launch in the coming months, where eligible customers can submit their claims. Notifications will be sent via email approximately 45 days after the settlement’s preliminary approval. Even if not directly notified, eligible individuals can still submit claims once the website is live.
Apple’s decision to settle this lawsuit underscores the importance of transparent communication and timely delivery of promised features. As the tech industry continues to evolve rapidly, companies must balance innovation with clear and honest marketing to maintain consumer trust.
