Apple is gearing up for one of its busiest product lineups next month, with seven new devices expected to hit the market before the end of September. The flurry of releases will kick off with two Macs shipping on Tuesday, September 22, followed by what promises to be a stacked fall lineup featuring new iPhones, watches, and AirPods.
What’s Coming in Late September
The first wave launches are already confirmed: the updated Mac mini, with M6 and M5 Pro chip options, will start shipping on September 22 at a base price of $899. At the higher end, the revamped Mac Studio, featuring M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, will also be available starting that day — although certain high-end configurations, like the one with 512GB of unified memory, won’t ship until late October. Pricing for the Mac Studio begins at $2,499.
The second half of September is set to include Apple’s annual fall reveal, which insiders anticipate will bring:
- iPhone 18 Pro: Expect a more compact Dynamic Island and a new A20 Pro chip.
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: Similar upgrades with the added benefits of a camera enhancement exclusive to the larger model, plus a bigger battery.
- Apple Watch Series 12: Should see advancements in fitness tracking and a faster S12 chip.
- Apple Watch Ultra 4: This rugged flagship is also expected to adopt the S12 chip.
- AirPods 5: References in the macOS 26.7 beta hint that these new earbuds are on deck, likely launching alongside the Pro phones.
Devices Held Back & Timing Notes
Not everything Apple has been rumored to be working on will make the September cut. The standard iPhone 18, lower-end iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 are now expected to launch in the spring of 2027 instead. The Apple Watch SE will not receive a refresh this year.
Also potentially in the mix but not confirmed is the first foldable iPhone “Ultra”. Although it might be unveiled at the same fall event, its actual shipping date could slip into October. If it ships in September, it would boost Apple’s product count to eight new devices before month’s end.
While Apple hasn’t officially dated its yearly iPhone event, it typically holds it in the first two weeks of September, with new phones going on sale shortly after. Media invites are expected to go out soon.
With all of these releases lined up—from a pair of high-end Macs to upgraded smartphones, wearables, and earbuds—next month could go down as one of Apple’s most ambitious product drops in recent memory.
Why this matters: such a surge in new devices suggests Apple is doubling down on hardware this fall, possibly to compensate for slower software cycles or to reassert dominance across multiple categories. What to watch for: pricing details, how the Pro models differ from non-Pro devices, and whether the foldable Ultra iPhone manages to ship on schedule. If it does, September may turn out to be an unusually crowded month for upgrades and new adopters.
