Apple Releases watchOS 27 Beta 5 to Developers

Apple has released the fifth beta of watchOS 27 to developers, marking another step toward the official launch of the latest Apple Watch operating system. This update arrives two weeks after the fourth beta, continuing the refinement process ahead of the anticipated fall release.

Developers with a free Apple Developer account can download the beta through the Watch app on their iPhone. To install the update, the Apple Watch must be on its charger, connected to Wi-Fi, and have at least a 50% battery charge. Notably, this beta is available for all Apple Watch models compatible with watchOS 27, except for the Apple Watch Ultra 3.

  • Enhanced Smart Stack Suggestions: Improved Smart Stack suggestions offer more relevant and timely information at a glance.
  • Additional Functionalities: Users can now locate their parked car, view pinned messages, receive noise alerts, and access identity and transit cards directly from their Apple Watch.
  • Liquid Glass Update: The Liquid Glass feature has been updated to enhance legibility, making on-screen content easier to read.
  • Workout Buddy Improvements: Workout Buddy now functions independently of the iPhone and includes new metrics such as progressive increases in distance, pace, or duration.
  • Find My App Integration: A new all-in-one Find My app supports Precision Finding, aiding in the accurate location of devices.
  • Performance Optimizations: Various performance enhancements have been implemented to improve battery life and overall system efficiency.
