Apple has officially released visionOS 26.6, marking the sixth update to its visionOS 26 operating system since its debut in September. This latest version arrives over two months after the rollout of visionOS 26.5.
Users can update their Vision Pro headsets by navigating to the Settings app, selecting the General section, and choosing Software Update. During the installation process, the headset must be removed, and a progress bar will appear on the exterior EyeSight display to indicate the update’s status.
According to Apple’s release notes, visionOS 26.6 focuses on bug fixes and security improvements. Additionally, it optimizes the Spotlight index in preparation for the forthcoming visionOS 27 launch. Apple recommends this update for all Vision Pro users to ensure optimal performance and security.
While this update doesn’t introduce new features, it underscores Apple’s commitment to maintaining the stability and security of its operating systems. As the company gears up for the release of visionOS 27, users can anticipate more significant enhancements and new functionalities in the near future.
