Apple Releases Third Public Beta of iOS 26.6

Apple has released the third public beta of iOS 26.6, along with updates for iPadOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6, watchOS 26.6, and tvOS 26.6. This release follows the developer beta made available a day earlier.

Public beta testers can access the new software by enrolling in Apple’s beta testing program and downloading the updates via the Software Update section in the Settings app on their devices.

iOS 26.6 introduces a notification feature that alerts users when they have reached the maximum number of blocked contacts. However, given that the limit is in the thousands, most users are unlikely to encounter this message. Additionally, there are indications of a new anti-snatching feature designed to lock an iPhone if it is forcibly taken from the user’s hand.

As Apple approaches the end of the iOS 26 development cycle, the focus of this update appears to be on bug fixes and security enhancements rather than introducing major new features. The company is expected to unveil iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and other major updates in September.

For users interested in testing the latest features and improvements, participating in the public beta program offers an early look at upcoming software changes. However, it’s important to remember that beta software may contain bugs and should be used with caution on primary devices.
