Apple M5 MacBook Pro Boosts Base Storage, Cuts SSD Upgrade Prices

Apple Enhances M5 MacBook Pro with Increased Base Storage and Reduced SSD Upgrade Costs

Apple has recently updated its M5 MacBook Pro lineup, introducing significant changes to storage configurations and pricing. The base model now comes equipped with a 1TB SSD, replacing the previous 512GB option. This adjustment has led to a new starting price of $1,699, up from the earlier $1,599. Despite the price increase, customers benefit from double the storage capacity at the entry level.

In addition to the enhanced base storage, Apple has reduced the costs associated with SSD upgrades. Upgrading from the base 1TB to a 2TB SSD now costs $400, a decrease from the previous $600. Similarly, opting for a 4TB SSD upgrade is now priced at $1,000, down from $1,200. These adjustments make higher storage capacities more accessible to users.

Apple has also streamlined its stock configurations. The base model now features 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Additional configurations include a $1,899 model with 24GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, and a higher-end option priced at $2,099, offering 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. These pre-configured models are available for immediate purchase and delivery.

The M5 MacBook Pro models with the new storage configurations are available for purchase starting today, with deliveries beginning as soon as tomorrow. For those interested in the M5 Pro and M5 Max models, pre-orders commence at 6:15 a.m. Pacific Time on March 4, with availability starting on March 11.
