What’s Going Wrong With Face ID?
Some iPhone 18 Pro users have encountered issues where Face ID fails to authenticate entirely—locking users out of apps and features. In certain cases, the device may freeze and automatically reboot. Other users have come across a message stating “Face ID is Not Available” when trying to set up facial recognition, or found problems with the setting that requires attention for Face ID to engage. These glitches seem tied to Apple’s integration of an under-display infrared camera on the Pro models, although it’s not confirmed whether hardware or software is at fault.
What This Update Fixes
iOS 27.0.1 brings several fixes, particularly for iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max devices.
