Apple Hosts Ted Lasso Look-Alike Contest Ahead of Season 4 Premiere

In anticipation of the fourth season of the acclaimed series ‘Ted Lasso,’ Apple is organizing a look-alike contest at its Fifth Avenue Plaza in New York City. The event is scheduled for August 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Participants will be evaluated over three rounds:

Round One: Ted Energy

Contestants introduce themselves in character and engage in a two-minute dance session. Judging criteria include optimism, posture, presence, costume authenticity, and overall participation.

Round Two: Head Coach

Semifinalists partake in a trivia game, assessed on their embodiment of Ted Lasso’s persona. Factors considered are trivia performance, costume dedication, mustache authenticity (with real mustaches earning extra points), and a unique ‘Believe Factor.’

Round Three: Ted Talk

Finalists deliver a 30- to 45-second pep talk to the audience. Evaluation focuses on audience impact, costume commitment, and the contestant’s ‘Ted Energy.’

The winner will receive custom Beats headphones and a soccer scarf, while two runners-up will be awarded the scarf. Detailed rules are available on Apple’s event site.

Season four of ‘Ted Lasso’ premieres on August 5, featuring ten episodes released weekly through October 7. This season follows Ted Lasso’s return to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s soccer team, with returning cast members including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift.

Hosting this contest underscores Apple’s commitment to engaging its audience and celebrating the cultural impact of ‘Ted Lasso.’ Such events not only promote the series but also foster a sense of community among fans, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
