Apple’s Home ecosystem has recently undergone notable enhancements, introducing features that elevate user convenience and device integration. Adaptive Temperature Feature for Smart Thermostats
With the release of iOS 26, Apple introduced the Adaptive Temperature feature within the Home app, aiming to augment the intelligence of smart thermostats. This functionality allows thermostats to automatically adjust settings based on user activity and location. Specifically, it can modify the temperature when the user is en route home, during sleep, or when away for extended periods. Although Adaptive Temperature was introduced in iOS 26.0, the first compatible smart thermostat became available earlier this month. The Aqara Smart Thermostat W200 fully supports this feature, enabling homes to maintain comfort and energy efficiency effortlessly. This device also functions as a Matter 1.4 hub, incorporating Thread and Zigbee technologies. It integrates seamlessly with other Aqara devices, such as smart locks and video doorbells, allowing users to control and view live feeds directly on its 4-inch touchscreen.
Introduction of Smart Lock with Apple Home Key and Ultra Wideband
The Apple Home ecosystem has been further enhanced with the launch of the first smart lock that supports both Apple Home Key and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology. The Aqara Smart Lock U400 exemplifies this advancement, showcasing Aqara’s commitment to deep integration with Apple’s platform.
Apple Home Key, configured through the Home app, facilitates effortless locking and unlocking of doors and simplifies guest access management. The standout feature of the U400 is its utilization of UWB technology, enabling doors to automatically lock and unlock based solely on the user’s proximity. The Home app now supports multipack accessory pairing, allowing users to use a single setup code to enroll multiple accessories sold together.
