ADT to Begin Pro In-Home Installations of Apple’s HomeView Hub

Apple has announced that ADT will begin providing professional in-home installation services for its new HomeView smart home hub in “most areas” across the United States. The move also includes compatible devices from its newly unveiled Apple Home Collection—products made in partnership with LG and Schneider Home—as well as other eligible accessories. These installations are set to roll out starting this fall.

What HomeView Is and Which Models Benefit

HomeView is Apple’s wall-mounted digital controller designed to serve as a central smart home hub. It sports a 7-inch display, matching the size of the tabletop version, and includes speaker holes arrayed along its bottom edge. Two color finishes are offered: space gray and silver. Users can install HomeView themselves, or opt for professional installation, with specific wall mounts provided by Schneider Home for proper installation.

The ADT service specifically covers the wall-mounted HomeView. Through this program, technicians will also handle setup for devices within the Apple Home Collection—such as cameras, locks, or thermostats made by LG and Schneider Home—plus other smart home accessories deemed eligible. Availability of these services spans most U.S. regions.

Timing and Availability

Apple confirms that ADT’s installation offering for HomeView and compatible accessories will launch this fall in the U.S.

This service is designed for customers who may need help securely mounting the hub, integrating it into existing home setups, or connecting enabled accessories. HomeView’s wall-mounted edition supports three purpose-built Schneider Home mounts, giving some flexibility in how and where it is installed.

Customers still have the option to install HomeView themselves, and for tabletop use the mounting and setup processes are simplified. But the pro install option adds a layer of convenience and potentially improved reliability for complex home environments.

Pricing details for the ADT professional install service haven’t been broadly disclosed beyond the indication that it will be available for “an additional charge.”

Why This Matters

HomeView is positioned as a central touchpoint for managing smart homes; its wall-mounted format is meant to offer more fixed control, compared to the portable tabletop version. The broader Apple Home Collection continues Apple’s effort to expand its in-house smart home platform with a range of sensors, locks, cameras, and thermostats made in collaboration with trusted manufacturers.

By teaming up with ADT for professional setup, Apple acknowledges that users setting up home automation often face hurdles—mounting, wiring, connectivity, compatibility—that can degrade the experience if not handled properly. Pro installation may also boost adoption in users who want smart home features without technical setup work.

Going forward, the service could help Apple and its manufacturing partners lower barriers to entry in the smart home market. For customers, the added cost may be offset by a cleaner, more confident installation and fewer integration headaches. It’s certainly a move to watch as HomeView rolls out and users begin installing the hardware this fall.
