iOS 27.2 Adds Find My Tracking for Siri Remote — Precision Finding Now Supported

With the arrival of iOS 27.2, Apple is expanding the Find My ecosystem. The update introduces long-awaited support for locating compatible Siri Remotes via the Find My app, following previous dependence on the less-known Remote app in Control Center to track them down. Remotes starting with the 2nd-generation Siri Remote will now appear under the Devices tab in Find My.

What’s New for Apple TV Remote Tracking

Until this update, there was no built-in way to find a lost Siri Remote through Find My. iOS 27.2 fills that gap. Compatible remotes—2nd generation and later—are now trackable alongside your other Apple devices.

Early adopters of the recently released 4th-generation Siri Remote get even more useful tools. This model supports Precision Finding and comes with a built-in speaker. These enhancements enable step-by-step navigation on your iPhone to locate the remote, along with an alerting sound when needed.

Compatibility and Pricing

The 4th-generation Siri Remote is bundled with the new Apple TV 4K and is also sold separately for those who need an upgrade. All Apple TV 4K and HD models work with the remote, but Precision Finding—Apple’s feature to guide you more accurately—requires an iPhone 17 or newer.

Though the Remote app could previously trigger a lost-remote sound via Control Center, most users were unaware of that capability. Now, with full visibility in Find My and enhanced locating tools, finding a missing Siri Remote is much easier.

iOS 27.2 also brings fresh features to Apple Photos, Messages, and Siri AI, though the inclusion of Siri Remote tracking has stood out as especially timely.

The launch of Find My support for Siri Remotes coincides with the availability of the 4th-generation version, giving Apple’s remote users access to Precision Finding and sound alerts. For households that frequently lose remote controls, or for anyone who finds themselves hunting for scattered remotes, this update reduces friction notably. Beyond convenience, it encourages tighter integration across Apple’s ecosystem—with remote devices finally joining the suite of items trackable via Find My. What to watch next: whether Apple will add lost-remote notifications, or integration with other devices such as HomePod or Apple Watch, making the Find My network even more powerful.
