Apple is undergoing another wave of executive restructuring under its new CEO. Luca Maestri, who had been managing the company’s Corporate Services operations, has quietly stepped down from that role in recent weeks. He remains with Apple, but his duties are greatly reduced, signaling the start of a wind-down in his tenure.
Until the end of 2024, Maestri was Apple’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the company’s fiscal health under then-CEO Tim Cook. At that point he shifted roles to serve as Vice President of Corporate Services. But with John Ternus now leading the company, Maestri has relinquished his Corporate Services responsibilities, which have been taken over by current CFO Kevan Parekh. Despite continuing on Apple’s payroll, Maestri reportedly comes into the office only one day a week.
At present, it’s unclear what Maestri’s remaining duties are, if any. The only confirmed role he still plays is teaching a class at Apple University, the company’s internal executive and employee education program. He no longer appears to be reporting to John Ternus or any other executive in the immediate Apple corporate management structure.

Insiders say Maestri is gradually preparing for retirement. His reduced presence and lack of an official portfolio outside of teaching are being viewed as steps toward an eventual exit. No public announcement has confirmed his departure yet, but the change in responsibilities paints a clear picture of how Apple intends to redistribute Maestri’s authority under its evolving leadership.
This comes as John Ternus assumes the CEO role, triggering broader shifts among Apple’s top executives. Financial oversight is now consolidated under Cofinancial Officer Kevan Parekh, who not only handles accounting and financial strategy but now also Corporate Services.
What this means: Maestri’s retreat from hands-on operational roles underscores a moment of transition. Apple appears to be streamlining its senior leadership, anchoring control with Ternus and Parekh as they define the company’s strategic and operational priorities in this new era. Maestri’s departure, however gradual, marks the close of a chapter for one of Apple’s longest-serving executives.
