Google has begun rolling out a new visual indicator for its paid AI subscription tiers across Android devices and the web. Users subscribed to AI Plus, AI Pro, or AI Ultra will now see a blue gradient ring encircling their account profile picture, replacing the previous four-color ring used for Google One subscribers.
Upon tapping the profile picture, users are presented with an updated, more compact fullscreen menu. This redesigned interface displays the user’s email address, profile picture, and name within a card that also indicates their subscription tier. The account switcher is integrated into this card for streamlined navigation. Additionally, the “Manage your Google Account” option is given increased prominence, and there’s a prompt to upgrade to higher-tier AI subscriptions, such as Google AI Ultra.
The rollout on Android is occurring on a per-device basis, with the new gradient ring appearing across most first-party apps simultaneously once available. However, not all applications have been updated to support this feature as of now. On the web, the implementation mirrors that of Android, with the gradient ring appearing on platforms like the Google homepage.
This visual update serves as a clear and immediate indicator of a user’s subscription status, enhancing the user experience by providing quick access to account management features and subscription information. As Google continues to expand its AI offerings, such design changes reflect the company’s commitment to integrating AI services seamlessly into its ecosystem.
