Peacock Increases Subscription Prices for Fourth Consecutive Year

NBC Universal has announced a new round of price increases for its streaming service, Peacock, marking the fourth consecutive year of such hikes. Effective immediately for new subscribers, and starting September 17 for existing customers, the updated pricing structure is as follows:

  • Peacock Select (excluding movies, live sports, and originals): $8.99/month (up from $7.99)
  • Peacock Premium: $12.99/month (up from $10.99)
  • Peacock Premium Plus: $19.99/month (up from $16.99)

These increases come shortly after NBC introduced the “Peacock Membership Awards,” offering discounts on NBC products, a one-year Instacart+ subscription, and Pizza Hut vouchers. Notably, the announcement of these rewards did not mention the impending price adjustments.

Since its launch in 2020, Peacock’s subscription rates have steadily climbed from an initial $4.99/month in 2023 to the current rates. Previous price adjustments occurred in August 2023, July 2024, and July 2025, each raising the cost of the Premium and Premium Plus tiers.

Peacock’s price hikes reflect a broader trend in the streaming industry, with competitors like Apple TV+ and Netflix also implementing similar increases. Additionally, Peacock is exploring strategic partnerships, such as a recent collaboration with YouTube to offer bundled premium services.

As streaming platforms continue to adjust their pricing models, consumers may need to reassess their subscription choices to balance content preferences with budget considerations. The ongoing trend of price increases across the industry suggests that subscribers should stay informed about potential future adjustments.
