The alleged breach reportedly involves the exfiltration of sensitive data, including email communications, cloud storage files, accounts payable information, and dispatch documents.
According to reports, Uber Freight has stated that its business operations remain unaffected and that all systems are functioning normally. However, the company has not provided detailed information regarding the nature or extent of the potential breach.
The Helix hacking group has a history of targeting large organizations, employing tactics such as social engineering and voice phishing to gain unauthorized access to systems. They are known for extracting substantial amounts of data and demanding ransom payments to prevent the public release of the stolen information. Recent analyses indicate that between January and May of this year, the group has accumulated at least $10.6 million in ransom payments.
