Clicks Unveils BlackBerry-Inspired Communicator Phone in New Video

Clicks Technology has released a new video showcasing its upcoming smartphone, the Clicks Communicator, which draws inspiration from the classic BlackBerry design. This device, first introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2026, is tailored for users who frequently engage in tasks like texting and emailing, offering a physical keyboard for enhanced productivity.

Priced at $499, the Communicator features a screen for viewing and responding to messages, complemented by a tactile, touch-sensitive keyboard below. Beyond its nostalgic design, the phone introduces innovative features such as the “Signal Light,” a customizable side button that uses different colors and light patterns to indicate messages from specific contacts, groups, or apps.

Additional features include interchangeable back covers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a physical SIM card tray alongside eSIM support, expandable microSD storage up to 2TB, and a tactile switch for airplane mode. The device runs on Android 16 and partners with the minimalist Niagara Launcher to provide streamlined access to apps.

At CES, hands-on experience with a prototype revealed a device that is comfortable to hold, with a balanced weight and grip. The keyboard offers a satisfying click, reminiscent of the BlackBerry experience, with plans to fine-tune key pressure for optimal typing speed.

The Communicator is set to ship in the fourth quarter of 2026. Future videos from Clicks Technology will delve deeper into specific features like the Signal Light, Prompt Key, Message Hub, and the touch-sensitive keyboard.

In an era dominated by touchscreen devices, the Clicks Communicator’s return to physical keyboards may appeal to users seeking tactile feedback and productivity enhancements. Its blend of nostalgic design and modern features positions it as a unique option in the smartphone market.
