Gemini Live Enhances Conversations with Memory and Connected Apps Integration

Google’s Gemini Live has recently been updated to incorporate Memory access, allowing the AI to recall details from past conversations and integrate information from various Connected Apps. This enhancement aims to provide users with more personalized and context-aware interactions.

Introduced at Google I/O 2026, the Neural Expressive redesign of Gemini Live emphasized a seamless transition between voice and text conversations. This update also expanded the AI’s ability to interact with Connected Apps, including YouTube, Utilities, Workspace, and image generation tools. Notably, integration with Google Messages is still anticipated.

With the new Memory feature, Gemini Live can now remember key details shared across different sessions, such as dietary preferences, significant family dates, or favorite hobbies. This capability reduces the need for users to repeat information, streamlining future interactions. The feature is currently available in English for users in the United States.

Google’s support page notes that Gemini Live adheres to the same permissions set during standard chat interactions, ensuring user control over shared information. While the Personal Intelligence settings on Android indicate that Memory is “coming soon to Live,” initial tests have shown the feature’s effectiveness in referencing previous conversations.

By integrating Memory and Connected Apps, Gemini Live moves closer to achieving feature parity with the main chat experience, offering users a more cohesive and intuitive AI assistant.

These advancements in Gemini Live reflect Google’s commitment to enhancing AI interactions by making them more personalized and contextually aware. As AI assistants become increasingly integrated into daily life, features like Memory and Connected Apps support are essential for providing meaningful and efficient user experiences. Users can look forward to further developments that will continue to refine and expand the capabilities of AI-driven conversations.
