Apple’s forthcoming iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate updates are set to significantly enhance the drawing capabilities within several native applications on both iPhone and Mac platforms.
In iOS 27, the Messages app introduces a new “Drawing” feature accessible through the app drawer. Users can activate this by tapping the plus sign located in the bottom-left corner of the app interface. This addition brings the full suite of Markup tools directly into Messages, allowing for more expressive and personalized communication. Previously, a rudimentary drawing tool was available in landscape mode, but the new integration offers a more robust and user-friendly experience.
On the macOS front, version 27 extends the Markup tools to the Notes and Freeform applications. This expansion enables users to incorporate drawings, annotations, and other visual elements seamlessly into their notes and collaborative projects, enhancing productivity and creativity.
These updates are currently in developer beta and are anticipated to be released to the general public in September.
