Apple Updates Design Resources to Support Liquid Glass Enhancements

Apple has released updated design resources to assist developers in aligning their applications with the latest enhancements in the Liquid Glass design language introduced in iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate. These resources provide comprehensive guidance on integrating the new visual elements, ensuring a cohesive user experience across Apple’s platforms.

The updated resources include detailed templates and specifications for various user interface components, such as buttons, arrows, and dialog boxes. Notably, they showcase the new layering effects exemplified by the redesigned Apple Maps icon, illustrating how developers can implement similar aesthetics in their own applications.

Apple’s own app icons are presented in Default, Dark, and Light Clear versions within the resource library. Additionally, the guidelines cover the appearance of red notification badges in the context of the new design, offering developers a clear framework for maintaining visual consistency.

Currently, these design elements are available as a library for the Sketch design tool. While previous updates have included resources for Figma, there is an expectation that support for Figma will be added in the near future.

As of now, there are no design resources available for visionOS 27, watchOS 27, or tvOS 27. However, the existing library encompasses tools for creating parallax or immersive images in visionOS, badges indicating Apple Pay support, and hardware templates for devices ranging from Apple Watch to iPhone.

Developers can also access a variety of Apple fonts and the SF Symbols library, which contains over 7,000 symbols, including standard share icons. These resources are instrumental in helping developers create applications that seamlessly integrate with Apple’s evolving design language.

By providing these updated design resources, Apple underscores its commitment to supporting developers in adopting the Liquid Glass design language. This initiative not only facilitates a more unified and visually appealing user experience but also encourages innovation within the developer community. As Apple continues to refine its design aesthetics, staying abreast of these resources will be crucial for developers aiming to deliver applications that resonate with users and adhere to the latest design standards.
