Amazon has introduced an enhanced ‘Story So Far’ feature for Kindle devices and the iPhone app in the United States. This tool provides readers with detailed recaps of books, aiding those returning after a hiatus.
According to Engadget, the feature is currently available for thousands of English-language titles, encompassing both purchased and borrowed books. To access a recap, users can press and hold a book’s title to see the ‘Read Recap’ option. Alternatively, within an open book, tapping the three-dot menu in the top right corner reveals the ‘Story So Far’ summary.
It’s important to note that some recaps may contain spoilers. Amazon has implemented warnings to alert readers when this is the case.
While the feature is now accessible on Kindle devices and the iPhone app, there is no information yet regarding its availability on Android devices.
This enhancement reflects Amazon’s commitment to improving the reading experience by offering tools that help readers stay engaged with their books, even after extended breaks.
