Renowned venture capitalist Ron Conway has publicly disclosed his recent diagnosis with a rare form of cancer. In a statement shared on X, Conway expressed his intention to reduce his involvement in certain activities to focus on his health. However, he reassured that he will continue to support the entrepreneurs associated with his firm, SV Angel.
Conway emphasized that SV Angel’s operations will remain consistent, highlighting that his son, Topher Conway, has been leading the firm’s investment decisions for nearly a decade. Additionally, his other son, Ronny Conway, joined as a managing partner in 2024. Both bring extensive experience from various technological cycles in Silicon Valley and are currently concentrating on collaborating with founders pioneering advancements in artificial intelligence.
While Conway chose not to disclose the specific type of cancer, aiming to prevent speculation about his prognosis, he conveyed optimism about his treatment. He expressed gratitude for the exceptional medical team at UCSF in San Francisco and affirmed his determination to confront this challenge head-on.
