Siri’s Evolution: Mastering Multiple Commands in iOS 27
Apple’s voice assistant, Siri, is poised for a significant upgrade with the upcoming release of iOS 27. This enhancement will enable Siri to process multiple commands within a single sentence, streamlining user interactions and boosting efficiency.
In 2023, Apple introduced a feature allowing users to issue consecutive commands without the need to repeatedly activate Siri with phrases like Hey, Siri. Building upon this, the anticipated update will permit users to combine multiple requests into one seamless command. For instance, saying, Start a timer for 15 minutes, then tell me what the weather is, will prompt Siri to execute both tasks consecutively.
This advancement is currently undergoing testing and is expected to debut with iOS 27, macOS 27, and iPadOS 27. These updates are slated for announcement at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2026. While some features may be labeled as Preview during the initial rollout—indicating potential beta versions or staggered releases—the multiple-command functionality is anticipated to be a cornerstone of the new Siri experience.
Apple’s initiative aims to position Siri more competitively against other AI voice assistants, such as ChatGPT. Beyond handling multiple commands, Siri is expected to function as a chatbot capable of summarizing internet information through a feature termed World Knowledge Answers.
Historically, Apple has introduced significant software updates to developers and beta testers in June, with public releases following in September. If this pattern holds, users can anticipate accessing the enhanced Siri features in the fall of 2026.
