Samsung Launches $399 Pro Keyboard for Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, Rivaling Laptop Experience

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra ‘Pro’ Keyboard: A Laptop Experience for $399

Samsung has unveiled the Tab S11 Ultra Pro Keyboard, a premium accessory designed to transform the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra into a laptop-like device. Priced at $399, this keyboard is nearly double the cost of the existing Book Cover Keyboard Slim and $50 more than Apple’s Magic Keyboard for the 13-inch iPad Pro.

The Pro Keyboard connects to the Tab S11 Ultra via rear pins, allowing users to adjust the tablet to their preferred viewing angle. A secondary kickstand provides additional stability, reminiscent of the design seen in the Pixel C. This setup includes a full QWERTY keyboard, a dedicated Galaxy AI key, and a full-size trackpad. Notably, the keyboard operates without Bluetooth and lacks a built-in battery, drawing power directly from the tablet.

When combined, the tablet and keyboard can be closed together, resembling a traditional laptop. The keyboard measures 5.3 mm in thickness—slightly thicker than the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra—and weighs 636 grams, bringing the total weight to approximately 1,300 grams (2.86 pounds), comparable to a MacBook Air. The combined thickness is around 11 mm, accounting for the gap between the tablet and keyboard.

The keyboard does not feature additional ports but includes customizable keys for quick access to favorite apps, a feature previously introduced in Samsung’s physical keyboards. It is available in silver and gray color options.

The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Pro Keyboard is currently available for purchase on Samsung’s website. However, initial reviews have highlighted some concerns, such as the absence of backlighting, lack of protection for the tablet’s back, and potential durability issues with the hinge mechanism.

As of now, there is no indication that this keyboard will be compatible with the base Galaxy Tab S11 model.
