NotebookLM Boosts Mobile Functionality with Customizable Slides and Infographics on Android and iOS

NotebookLM Enhances Mobile Experience with Customizable Slides and Infographics

Google’s NotebookLM app has recently introduced significant updates to its mobile versions on Android and iOS, bringing them closer in functionality to the web platform. Users can now customize Slide Decks and Infographics directly within the app, enhancing the flexibility and utility of these features.

Infographic Customization:

Within the Studio tab, users will notice a new pencil icon adjacent to the Infographic option. This addition allows for several customization choices:

– Orientation: Select from Landscape, Portrait, or Square formats to best suit your content’s visual presentation.

– Sources: Choose specific sources to tailor the infographic’s content, ensuring relevance and accuracy.

– Prompt: Input custom prompts to guide the infographic’s focus, aligning it with your intended message or theme.

– Language: Specify the output language, making the infographic accessible to a broader audience.

Slide Deck Customization:

Similarly, the Slide Deck feature now offers enhanced customization options:

– Format:

– Detailed Deck: A comprehensive presentation with full text and details, ideal for sharing via email or for readers to peruse independently.

– Presenter Slides: Clean, visual slides highlighting key talking points, designed to support live presentations.

– Language: Choose the language for the slide content to cater to diverse audiences.

– Length: Adjust the slide deck’s length to Short, Default, or Long. The Long option is available exclusively for Google AI Ultra subscribers, providing more in-depth content.

– Sources: Select specific sources to ensure the slide deck’s content is accurate and pertinent.

– Prompt: Provide custom prompts to guide the slide deck’s structure and focus, tailoring it to your specific needs.

Availability and Additional Features:

These customization features began rolling out last week and are now widely available. If the updates are not yet visible on your device, try force-stopping the app to prompt the update. In addition to these enhancements, Google has also introduced Video Overviews on mobile, further enriching the NotebookLM experience.

It’s important to note that while the mobile app now includes these customization options, certain features like Mind Map, Reports, and Data Table are currently unavailable. Additionally, Video Overview customization options are not yet present in the mobile version.
