In a significant leadership change, Chris Hyams has announced his resignation as CEO of Indeed, the prominent job search platform. Hisayuki Idekoba, CEO of Indeed’s parent company, Recruit Holdings, will reassume the role of Indeed’s CEO after a six-year hiatus.
Hyams, who joined Indeed in 2010 as Vice President of Product, has been instrumental in transforming the company from a simple job search engine into a comprehensive talent marketplace. Under his leadership, Indeed’s user base expanded to over 300 million job seekers monthly, and the company’s revenue experienced a 200-fold increase. Notably, the platform has facilitated over 75 million job placements, with 27 individuals securing employment every minute.
Reflecting on his tenure, Hyams stated, Indeed would not be what it is today without Chris, as he led the company through its transition from a simple job search engine to a two-sided talent marketplace. We’re so grateful for everything he’s done.
Idekoba, who previously served as Indeed’s CEO before Hyams, expressed his appreciation for Hyams’ contributions and emphasized the company’s commitment to its mission of connecting job seekers with opportunities.
This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for Indeed, as the company continues to navigate the evolving job market landscape and seeks to innovate its services to better serve both employers and job seekers.
