Kabir Narang Leaves B Capital to Launch AI-Focused Investment Platform in 2026

Kabir Narang Departs B Capital to Launch AI-Focused Investment Platform

Kabir Narang, a founding general partner at B Capital, has announced his departure from the global venture firm to establish a new investment platform set to launch in 2026. This forthcoming platform aims to capitalize on opportunities at the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and global capital flows.

Narang joined B Capital in March 2017, where he co-led the firm’s Asia strategy from Singapore and chaired its global investment committee. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in backing several prominent Indian startups, including Meesho, Khatabook, CredAvenue, Bounce, and Bizongo.

In a note shared with founders, Narang emphasized the transformative impact of AI on the investment landscape. He stated, We are living through one of the most profound technological revolutions in history, and one of the toughest tests of investor discipline. AI scales thought itself, compressing the gap between idea and output. The founders who pair that speed with pricing power and improving unit economics will define the next generation of enduring value.

In addition to developing his new investment platform, Narang plans to take personal stakes ranging from 1% to 2% in companies he believes have the potential for intelligent compounding. This approach indicates his continued commitment to early-stage investing while laying the groundwork for a broader investment vehicle.

B Capital confirmed Narang’s departure and expressed gratitude for his contributions over the past eight years. A spokesperson for the firm stated, After more than eight years with the firm, Kabir Narang, who focused on later-stage growth investing efforts in Asia, has left his role to pursue other opportunities. We are grateful for his contributions, and we wish him continued success in the future.

The firm’s Asia portfolio will now be managed by Eduardo Saverin, Karan Mohla, and Howard Morgan, alongside the existing team in South and Southeast Asia.

B Capital, founded in 2015 by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and former Bain Capital executive Raj Ganguly, is a multi-stage investor focusing on technology, healthcare, and resilience tech. The San Francisco–based firm manages over $9 billion across nine offices in the U.S. and Asia. Through a partnership with Boston Consulting Group, B Capital provides its portfolio companies with strategic and operational support.

Before his tenure at B Capital, Narang spent nearly nine years at Fidelity-backed Eight Roads Ventures India, where he served as a managing director.

Narang’s departure marks a significant shift in the venture capital landscape, particularly in Asia, as he embarks on this new venture focusing on the rapidly evolving AI sector.
