inDrive Acquires Krave Mart to Boost Grocery Delivery Services in Pakistan

inDrive’s Strategic Acquisition of Krave Mart to Enhance Grocery Delivery in Pakistan

In a strategic move to diversify its service offerings, global ride-hailing giant inDrive has acquired Pakistan-based quick-commerce startup Krave Mart. This acquisition marks a significant step in inDrive’s expansion into the grocery delivery sector within South Asia.

The all-stock transaction, finalized last year, recently received approval from the Competition Commission of Pakistan, enabling both companies to proceed with the integration. While the financial specifics remain undisclosed, inDrive has confirmed the completion of the deal.

Established in 2021, Krave Mart has rapidly gained traction in Pakistan’s quick-commerce landscape, operating in major cities such as Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. The startup specializes in delivering groceries within approximately 30 minutes, leveraging a network of strategically located dark stores to fulfill orders efficiently.

This acquisition aligns with inDrive’s broader strategy to evolve beyond its core ride-hailing services and delve into commerce-related offerings. The Mountain View, California-based company initiated its foray into grocery deliveries in Kazakhstan in September 2025. Subsequently, in January 2026, inDrive expanded this service to Pakistan through a partnership with Krave Mart, following an investment in the startup in December 2024.

The December 2024 investment was facilitated through inDrive’s venture and mergers-and-acquisitions arm, launched in November 2023. This division was established with a commitment to invest up to $100 million over the ensuing years, aiming to bolster inDrive’s transformation into a comprehensive super-app.

Andries Smit, Chief Growth Businesses Officer at inDrive, expressed satisfaction with the regulatory approval, stating, We are pleased with the approval from the Competition Commission of Pakistan as we continue to work closely with Krave Mart to expand access to fast and reliable grocery delivery services across the country, most recently launching in Lahore under the inDrive.Groceries brand.

Smit further elaborated that both the Krave Mart and inDrive brands will maintain their operations in Karachi as the company continues to broaden its grocery delivery services.

The expansion of grocery delivery services in Pakistan presents a formidable challenge, given the market’s competitive landscape. Foodpanda, backed by German delivery conglomerate Delivery Hero, has been a dominant player in the country for over a decade. Quick-commerce ventures typically demand substantial time and capital investment before achieving profitability.

inDrive’s acquisition of Krave Mart signifies a calculated effort to diversify its revenue streams and enhance user engagement by integrating high-frequency services like grocery delivery. This move is part of a larger trend among ride-hailing companies seeking to evolve into super-apps, offering a suite of services beyond transportation.

By leveraging Krave Mart’s established infrastructure and inDrive’s extensive user base, the company aims to provide a seamless and efficient grocery delivery experience to Pakistani consumers. This strategic expansion not only strengthens inDrive’s position in the market but also reflects the growing convergence of ride-hailing and e-commerce services in the region.
