Google Updates Pixel’s Adaptive Connectivity with Auto-Switch and Battery Optimization Settings

Google Enhances Pixel’s Adaptive Connectivity with New Auto-Switch and Battery Optimization Settings

In the latest Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2 update, Google has introduced more detailed Adaptive Connectivity settings for Pixel devices, aiming to improve user experience by offering greater control over network management.

Previously, the Adaptive Connectivity feature was a simple on/off toggle located under Settings > Network & Internet > Adaptive Connectivity. This feature was designed to extend battery life and enhance device performance by automatically managing network connections.

With the new update, this single toggle has been replaced by two distinct options, both enabled by default:

1. Auto-switch to mobile network: This setting ensures that your device maintains connectivity when Wi-Fi signals are weak or unavailable. It’s important to note that enabling this feature may result in additional data charges, depending on your mobile plan.

2. Optimize network for battery life: This option allows the device to automatically select the most efficient network connection to prolong battery life.

These enhancements provide users with more granular control over their device’s network behavior, allowing for a more tailored experience based on individual needs and preferences.

In addition to these settings, Google has recently updated the Adaptive Connectivity Services (version p.2026.01) through System Services, further refining the feature’s performance.

The final beta release for Android 16 QPR3 is anticipated later this month, with a stable release expected in March.
