Google Recorder Update Brings ‘Create Music’ Feature to Pixel 9 Series

Google Recorder Update Introduces ‘Create Music’ Feature to Pixel 9 Series

Google has released an update to its Pixel Recorder app, bringing the innovative Create Music feature to the Pixel 9 series. This functionality, initially launched with the Pixel 10 series, allows users to enhance their audio recordings by adding background musical elements, thereby transforming standard recordings into more engaging audio experiences.

Introducing ‘Create Music’ to Pixel 9

With the latest update, Pixel 9 users can now access the Create Music option directly from the Recorder app’s three-dot menu. This feature offers a selection of Featured Vibes, including:

– Chill Beats
– Cozy
– Dance Party
– Rainy Day Blues
– Romantic
– Surprise Me

For those seeking a personalized touch, the Your Vibes section allows users to craft custom backgrounds by selecting specific genres and moods. Once a vibe is chosen, Google analyzes the recording—a process that may take a minute or two—to seamlessly integrate the selected musical background. The user interface for this feature is designed with Material 3 Expressive, ensuring a visually appealing and intuitive experience.

Expanded Language Support for Summarization

In addition to the Create Music feature, the update enhances the app’s summarization capabilities by supporting additional languages. Users can now generate summaries in:

– Hindi, Chinese-Mandarin, and Italian on Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 devices
– English, German, French, and Japanese on Pixel 8 devices

This expansion broadens the app’s accessibility, catering to a more diverse user base.

Enhancements to ‘Clear Voice’ Feature

The update also introduces improvements to the Clear Voice functionality:

– Playback Indicator: A prominent label now appears at the bottom of the waveform during playback to indicate when Clear Voice is active.
– Toggle Accessibility: Tapping the label opens an overflow menu, allowing users to easily disable the feature if desired.
– Settings Update: In the app’s settings, Clear Voice is now referred to as Auto Clear Voice, accompanied by a note stating that enabling this feature uses more storage and doesn’t support external mics or stereo.

These refinements aim to provide users with greater control and clarity over their audio recordings.

User Interface and Account Menu Updates

The Recorder app’s account menu has been updated to a fullscreen design, enhancing navigation and usability. Users are advised to force stop the app after installing the update to apply this change effectively.

Availability

The updated version, 4.2.20251104.x, of the Pixel Recorder app is now available for download via the Google Play Store.
