Google Pixel 9 Series to Receive AirDrop Support via Quick Share
Google is set to enhance the file-sharing capabilities of its Pixel 9 series by introducing AirDrop support through the Quick Share feature. This development follows the initial rollout of AirDrop compatibility on the Pixel 10 series, marking a significant step in cross-platform file sharing between Android and iOS devices.
The integration of AirDrop support into the Pixel 9 lineup was identified in the latest Android Canary build ZP11.251212.007. This build includes specific system files that facilitate AirDrop functionality, previously exclusive to the Pixel 10 series. The devices slated to receive this update encompass the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Notably, the Pixel 9a and earlier Pixel models are currently excluded from this enhancement.
Despite the inclusion of these system files, the AirDrop feature is not yet active on Pixel 9 devices. This suggests that Google is in the process of developing and testing the functionality, with a broader release anticipated in the near future.
