Eat App Expands in India with ReserveGo Acquisition and Swiggy Partnership, Aiming for Strategic Growth

Eat App’s Strategic Expansion in India: Acquisition and Swiggy Partnership

Dubai-based restaurant reservation platform, Eat App, is making significant strides in the Indian market through a recent acquisition and a strategic partnership with Swiggy. The company has secured a $10 million Series B extension round, led by PSG Equity via its portfolio company Zenchef SAS, bringing its total funding to over $23 million.

Established over a decade ago, Eat App operates in 92 countries, serving more than 5,000 restaurants and generating an annual recurring revenue of $12 million. In the past year, the company has intensified its focus on India, expanding its reach to over 2,000 restaurants nationwide.

India’s food service industry is projected to surpass $85 billion by 2028, with dine-in services accounting for more than half of this market. Restaurants often manage reservations from multiple platforms like Zomato, Swiggy, and EazyDiner, leading to fragmented data management.

To address this, Eat App acquired ReserveGo in mid-2025, a platform founded by Vijayan Parthasarathy in 2022. Parthasarathy, who previously developed inResto in 2014 (acquired by Times Internet-owned Dineout in 2015), noted that ReserveGo has consistently handled 5 million reservations monthly over the past year without downtime.

Additionally, Eat App has partnered with Swiggy to market its product to restaurants, enhancing its service offerings. This collaboration has increased Eat App’s restaurant partnerships to over 2,000, facilitating more than 8 million covers by year’s end. In comparison, Swiggy’s Dineout platform served over 23.8 million covers in 2025.

Arpit Mathur, Vice President of Strategy at Swiggy, stated, Access to Eat App’s world-class technology and AI-driven tools is going to improve restaurant management, helping restaurants across the country bring a more delightful experience to their guests.

The partnership introduces GroMax for India, a solution that includes features like promoting restaurants on Meta and Swiggy, alongside reservation management. While Swiggy contributes sales insights, Eat App leads product development tailored to the Indian market.

Before its Indian expansion, Eat App’s primary markets included the UAE, the U.S., the U.K., and Saudi Arabia. CEO Nezar Kadhem observed similarities between India’s current restaurant industry and Dubai’s market from eight to nine years ago, expressing optimism about replicating past successes in India.

Despite the opportunities, Eat App faces challenges from international competitors like SevenRooms, TableCheck, and OpenTable, as well as local players such as Petpooja and Posist. Additionally, some restaurants prefer walk-ins or lack aggregation software for diner data.

Industry experts suggest that reservation aggregation software alone may not attract restaurant owners. Eat App must demonstrate that its growth suite offers substantial value to restaurants to gain a competitive edge.
