DIRECTV has expanded its Sports Central feature to iOS devices, offering iPhone and iPad users a comprehensive hub for live sports content. This update brings several enhancements to the DIRECTV app, aiming to enrich the sports viewing experience for subscribers.
Key Features of Sports Central on iOS:
1. Live Game Access: Users can now easily find and watch live games airing across various DIRECTV channels directly from their iOS devices.
2. Upcoming Schedules: The app provides detailed schedules of upcoming sports events, ensuring fans never miss a game.
3. In-Depth Information: Explore comprehensive league, matchup, and team pages for additional game details and statistics.
4. Recording Capabilities: Subscribers can record games airing on DIRECTV channels, including specific matchups or favorite teams, for later viewing.
5. Team Favorites: By favoriting teams, users can have their games and updates appear prominently within the app.
6. Streaming Integration: Access games from various streaming apps such as YouTube, Prime Video, ESPN Select, and Peacock alongside DIRECTV channels. Note that separate subscriptions may be required for these services.
To utilize these features, users should update to the latest version of the DIRECTV app. After updating, tapping the Sports icon in the navigation bar will grant access to Sports Central.
In addition to this update, DIRECTV has introduced new multiview configurations for March Madness, allowing viewers to watch multiple games simultaneously on a single screen. Furthermore, the company is offering a promotion through April 23, which includes its Sports Pack free for one month with the CHOICE package priced at $59.99 per month.
