Apple’s Veteran Sales Leader Mark Rogers to Depart After 27 Years

Apple Inc. is poised for a significant leadership transition as Mark Rogers, the company’s Vice President of Western Europe and Global Enterprise Sales, plans to depart later this year. Rogers, who has dedicated 27 years to Apple, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s sales strategies across Europe and the enterprise sector since assuming his current role in 2013.

In his capacity, Rogers has overseen sales operations to corporate clients worldwide and managed Apple’s business in key Western European markets, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. He reports directly to Mike Fenger, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Sales, who, in turn, reports to CEO Tim Cook.

Rogers’ impending departure will trigger a reorganization within Apple’s sales division. Juan Castellanos, currently Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, will expand his responsibilities to include Western Europe. Concurrently, Vivek Thakkar, Vice President of U.S. Carrier and Enterprise Sales, will assume leadership of global enterprise sales. Both Castellanos and Thakkar will continue to report to Fenger, ensuring continuity in Apple’s sales leadership.

This leadership change follows a series of adjustments within Apple’s sales organization. In 2023, after the retirement of Hugues Asseman, Apple restructured its sales group, designating India as a standalone region with its chief, Ashish Chowdhary, reporting directly to Fenger. The company has also experienced several high-profile departures, including hardware engineering executive Dan Riccio and Chief People Officer Carol Surface. Additionally, recent changes have been made in Apple’s AI and retail leadership teams.

Rogers’ exit coincides with the typical vesting period for restricted stock, a common juncture for long-serving employees to consider departure. His decision reflects a broader trend of veteran managers stepping down, signaling ongoing evolution within Apple’s executive team.

Throughout his tenure, Rogers has played a pivotal role in shaping Apple’s international sales strategies, particularly in Europe. His departure is expected to bring changes to the executive team and could influence Apple’s sales operations in key regions. However, with experienced executives like Castellanos and Thakkar stepping into expanded roles, Apple aims to maintain stability and continuity in its sales leadership.
