Gentler Streak & The Outsiders Gain iOS 27 Siri AI & On-Screen Awareness

Two fitness apps from Gentler Stories—Gentler Streak and its companion, The Outsiders—have received major updates to sync up with iOS 27’s newest features. Version 5.13 of Gentler Streak and version 1.8 of The Outsiders now allow deeper integration with Siri’s AI and on-screen awareness, plus revamped visuals and layout improvements.

Siri AI & On-Screen Awareness

With the iOS 27 updates, both apps can now respond to Siri AI via an updated App Intents framework—users can ask for health or fitness information (stats, workouts, or sleep) from either app without launching it first. Siri’s on-screen awareness also kicks in when you’re inside the app: you can ask for explanations about charts or training summaries right from the screen you’re viewing.

In Gentler Streak, Siri can pull up “today’s workouts,” “activity status,” daily metrics, or last night’s sleep. In The Outsiders, the assistant helps with retrieving “training readiness,” today’s workout plan, body metrics, or sleep data. These voice queries need to include the app’s name to work correctly.

AI Titles, UI polish, & Device Scaling

Alongside AI voice and awareness enhancements, both apps now offer an on-device feature that uses AI to suggest more descriptive titles for workouts, while still allowing users to rename them themselves. UI design has also been refreshed: updated app icons and interfaces for both apps follow Apple’s “Liquid Glass” aesthetic, bringing a sleeker, modern look.

Last but not least, both apps now better adapt to varying device display setups. They automatically scale across different screen sizes and window configurations, making them more flexible for iPads and supporting “iPhone Duo” layouts.

These updates arrive with iOS 27’s rollout, positioning both apps to harness Apple’s latest health-, AI-, and display-centric OS enhancements immediately.

Why this matters. These changes highlight a broader shift: fitness and health applications are becoming smarter assistants, not just trackers. Gentler Streak and The Outsiders now let users interact via voice, get insight without digging through menus, and see more context with less friction. As more apps adopt on-device AI, app states awareness, and adaptive scaling, users can expect increasingly seamless, proactive experiences—especially in domains like wellness where data context and immediacy make all the difference.
