Indian fintech company Navi has secured a $100 million investment from Prosus, marking its first external funding since its inception in 2018. This investment values Navi at approximately $1.3 billion.
Founded by Sachin Bansal, co-founder of Flipkart, Navi offers a suite of financial services, including digital payments, lending, insurance, and mutual funds. The company has been primarily self-funded by Bansal until this recent investment.
The funding comes as Navi is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) to raise ₹30 billion (about $314 million). The company had previously filed for a $440 million IPO in 2022 but withdrew the plan the following year due to unfavorable market conditions.
In the fiscal year ending March 2026, Navi reported revenues of ₹30.91 billion (approximately $323.33 million) and a net loss of ₹4.66 billion (around $48.74 million). Despite the loss, the company achieved consolidated profitability in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.
Navi’s digital payments platform, integrated with India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), is the country’s fourth-largest UPI app, processing over 947 million transactions valued at ₹483.18 billion (about $5.05 billion) in July. Its lending arm, Navi Finserv, manages assets exceeding ₹130 billion (approximately $1.4 billion).
This investment from Prosus not only provides Navi with substantial capital to fuel its growth but also brings in a strategic partner with global experience in scaling technology businesses. As Navi continues to expand its footprint in India’s fintech sector, this partnership could be instrumental in navigating the competitive landscape and achieving its long-term objectives.
