Microsoft is introducing support for Apple Account sign-in within its Edge browser, allowing users to access the browser without the need for a Microsoft account. This feature is currently being tested in the latest Edge Canary build and is also rolling out to Edge Beta users.
Two new flags have been identified in the Edge Canary build: one enables Apple Account sign-in for Edge profiles, and the other adds an Apple sign-in button to the profile menu, complementing the existing Google Account sign-in option. Microsoft’s release notes for Edge Beta version 152 confirm the inclusion of Apple Account sign-in support for both Windows and macOS platforms. However, the company describes this as a “controlled rollout,” indicating that it may take some time before all beta users have access to the feature.
Integrating Apple Account sign-in into Microsoft Edge simplifies the user experience, particularly for those deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem. This move reflects a broader industry trend toward offering more flexible and user-friendly authentication options, reducing the friction associated with managing multiple accounts across different platforms.
