Pocket Casts, the widely-used podcast application, has expanded its platform availability by introducing a dedicated app for Apple TV. This new addition allows users to seamlessly continue their podcast listening experience on the big screen, maintaining synchronization across devices.
The Apple TV app mirrors the functionality found on Pocket Casts’ other platforms, offering access to users’ podcast libraries, the ‘Up Next’ queue, listening history, and playback positions. This integration ensures that an episode started on a mobile device during a commute can be effortlessly resumed on Apple TV at home without the need to search for the episode or manually adjust the playback position.
In a recent announcement, Pocket Casts emphasized the continuity provided by this update, stating that users will experience the same ‘Up Next’ queue, history, and playback positions across different rooms. Additionally, the company revealed plans to extend this experience to Android TV users, with a dedicated app slated for release in the near future.
This development follows a series of enhancements to the Pocket Casts ecosystem. In June, the iPhone app adopted Apple’s Liquid Glass design, offering a more refined user interface. Subsequently, a July update introduced chapter artwork to the Lock Screen, Control Center, and CarPlay, enriching the visual experience for listeners.
