AppleCare One Becomes Even More Cost-Effective Amid Price Hikes

Apple’s recent adjustments to its AppleCare+ pricing for Mac and iPad devices have inadvertently enhanced the value proposition of its multi-device protection plan, AppleCare One. While individual AppleCare+ subscriptions for these devices have seen a modest increase of 50 cents per month or $5 annually, AppleCare One’s pricing remains unchanged at $19.99 per month for coverage of up to three devices.

To illustrate the savings, consider the following scenario: Monthly AppleCare+ coverage for a 13-inch MacBook Air now costs $7.99, an 11-inch iPad Air is $6.99, and an iPhone 17 Pro with theft and loss coverage is $13.99. Combined, these individual plans total $28.97 per month. In contrast, AppleCare One covers all three devices for $19.99 monthly, resulting in a savings of $8.98 per month, or $107.76 over a year. Even when comparing annual plans, the combined cost for individual coverage amounts to $289.97, whereas 12 months of AppleCare One totals $239.88, offering a savings of $50.09.

For users with higher-end devices, the savings are even more pronounced. Monthly AppleCare+ for a 16-inch MacBook Pro is now $15.99, and coverage for a 13-inch iPad Pro is $11.99. Together, these plans cost $27.98 per month. Opting for AppleCare One at $19.99 monthly saves $7.99, even before adding a third device.

AppleCare One, introduced in July 2025, offers comprehensive coverage for up to three eligible Apple products, with the option to add additional devices for $5.99 per month each. The plan includes unlimited accidental damage repairs (subject to service fees), battery service, 24/7 priority support, and Apple-certified repairs. Notably, it extends theft and loss protection to iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, allowing up to three claims per year across these devices. Additionally, products up to four years old can be added to the plan, provided they pass Apple’s condition check, offering greater flexibility compared to the standard AppleCare+ purchase window.

While AppleCare One may not be the most economical choice for every user—such as those covering only a MacBook Air and iPad Air, which would cost $14.98 monthly with individual plans—it becomes increasingly cost-effective for users covering three or more devices, or those with premium models. With individual coverage prices rising and AppleCare One’s pricing holding steady, the bundle emerges as a particularly attractive option for comprehensive device protection.

In the broader context, this development underscores Apple’s strategic approach to offering value through bundled services. As individual service costs rise, bundled offerings like AppleCare One not only provide financial savings but also simplify the management of device protection plans. This trend reflects a growing emphasis on subscription-based models that cater to users seeking both convenience and comprehensive coverage.
