Google Meet’s ‘Take Notes for Me’ Now Available to AI Pro and Ultra Subscribers

Google has expanded its ‘Take Notes for Me’ feature in Google Meet to include subscribers of its AI Pro and Ultra plans. This Gemini-powered tool automatically transcribes and summarizes meeting discussions, capturing key action items to help participants stay engaged without the distraction of manual note-taking.

Once activated, the feature generates a summary document stored in the meeting organizer’s Google Drive and sends an email recap to all participants. Users can enable ‘Take Notes for Me’ during a meeting by selecting the pencil spark icon on the web interface or through the menu on Android and iOS devices. Additionally, the feature can be set to activate automatically for all meetings via Google Meet settings.

Customization options allow users to adjust the level of detail in the recap and format the document to include sections such as Summary, Decisions, Next Steps, and Details. All meeting attendees are notified when the feature is active, ensuring transparency. The tool supports multiple languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Initially introduced to Google Workspace users in 2024, ‘Take Notes for Me’ is now accessible to AI Pro subscribers at $19.99 per month and Ultra subscribers. This expansion reflects Google’s commitment to integrating advanced AI capabilities into its suite of productivity tools, enhancing user experience and efficiency.

The broader availability of ‘Take Notes for Me’ underscores the growing role of AI in streamlining workplace collaboration. As virtual meetings remain prevalent, such features can significantly reduce administrative burdens, allowing teams to focus more on strategic discussions and decision-making. Users should explore these AI-driven tools to optimize their meeting workflows and improve overall productivity.
