Anthropic Introduces Claude Tag for Enhanced Team Collaboration

Anthropic has unveiled Claude Tag, a new feature designed to enhance team collaboration by integrating its AI assistant, Claude, directly into workplace communication platforms. Initially launching with Slack integration, Claude Tag allows teams to delegate tasks to Claude within their channels, streamlining workflows and improving productivity.

By adding Claude to selected Slack channels, team members can mention @Claude to assign tasks. Claude builds context by remembering relevant information from the channels it’s part of and can plan out tasks for future completion. This functionality enables team members to focus on other work while Claude handles delegated tasks.

Claude Tag is an evolution of Anthropic’s previous tool, Claude Code, and has been utilized internally by the company throughout the year. According to Anthropic, the Claude Code team has been using Claude Tag internally, with Claude now writing 65% of the product team’s code, including most of what built Claude Tag itself.

In addition to task delegation, Claude Tag offers features such as ambient behavior, allowing Claude to proactively assist without direct prompts, and the ability to schedule and automate tasks. These capabilities aim to make Claude a more integral part of team workflows.

Claude Tag is currently in beta and available to Anthropic’s Enterprise and Team subscription tiers. It replaces the existing Claude in Slack tool, which will be discontinued on August 3. Users interested in adopting Claude Tag can find more information on Anthropic’s official website.

Integrating AI assistants like Claude directly into team communication platforms represents a significant step toward more efficient and automated workflows. As AI continues to evolve, tools like Claude Tag could become essential in managing complex projects and enhancing team productivity.
