The Photos app now includes three AI-driven editing tools: Extend, Reframe, and an upgraded Clean Up feature. Extend allows users to adjust the aspect ratio or straighten horizons without cropping essential parts of the image; the tool intelligently fills in missing areas to maintain the photo’s integrity. Reframe enables spatial adjustments, letting users modify the composition as if repositioning the camera within the original scene. The Clean Up feature has been significantly improved, offering more realistic removal of unwanted elements, even in complex backgrounds.
Enhanced iCloud Shared Albums
iCloud Shared Albums receive notable upgrades, including support for full-resolution photos and videos, compatibility with Windows and Android devices, and the ability to react with any emoji. Users can now set expiration dates for shared albums and manage participant permissions more effectively, streamlining the sharing process across different platforms.
New Organizational Features
Two new collections have been added under the Utilities section: ‘Captured by Me,’ which filters and displays only photos taken by the user, excluding screenshots and saved images from others; and ‘Identity Documents,’ which identifies and organizes images containing important documents like driver’s licenses or passports. Additionally, users can now add keywords to photos, enhancing searchability and organization within the app.
Slideshow Customization
Slideshow functionality has been expanded, allowing users to customize transitions, set specific durations for the entire slideshow and individual photos, and more. These enhancements provide greater control over slideshow presentations, making them more personalized and engaging.
