Apple TV+ Sets ‘Slow Horses’ Season 6 Premiere for September 16

Apple TV+ has announced that the sixth season of its acclaimed spy drama, ‘Slow Horses,’ will debut on September 16, with new episodes releasing weekly until October 21. The series, adapted from Mick Herron’s novels, features Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the head of a division within MI5 known for its underperforming agents.

According to 9to5Mac, the upcoming season will see the Slough House team entangled in a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge orchestrated by Diana Taverner. A first-look image showcases Oldman reprising his role as the unorthodox leader.

‘Slow Horses’ has been a significant success for Apple TV+, both critically and commercially. The show has received multiple Emmy and BAFTA TV awards, and all five existing seasons hold ‘Certified Fresh’ ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. The series has already been renewed for a seventh season, with an eighth reportedly in production.

Notably, this season marks a change in leadership, as Gaby Chiappe, known for creating ‘The Beast Must Die,’ takes over as showrunner from Will Smith, who led the first five seasons. It will be interesting to see how this transition influences the show’s direction and tone.
