YouTube TV has officially introduced a fully customizable multiview feature, allowing subscribers to simultaneously watch multiple live channels of their choice. This enhancement enables users to mix and match content across various packages, including add-ons like NFL Sunday Ticket.
The multiview builder offers predefined categories such as Recommended (based on viewing habits), Sports, News, Shows, Movies, and Other live content. Users have the flexibility to select any live content they wish to view concurrently.
However, there are certain limitations to this feature. Only live content is supported; video-on-demand (VOD) and DVR recordings cannot be added to a multiview. Additionally, some family-friendly content is not eligible for multiview customization. Regarding device compatibility, the feature is rolling out to the majority of living room and mobile devices. A small subset of older devices, comprising less than 5% of the total, may not support the full customization experience. Users on these devices will still have access to a multiview builder, but it will be focused on major events like the NFL or World Cup.
This rollout marks a significant expansion of YouTube TV’s multiview capabilities, providing users with greater control over their viewing experience.
