Johny Srouji Appointed as Apple’s Chief Hardware Officer Amid Leadership Transition
In a significant leadership shift, Apple has announced that Johny Srouji, the Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, will ascend to the role of Chief Hardware Officer. This transition coincides with John Ternus’s promotion to Chief Executive Officer, marking a new chapter in Apple’s executive hierarchy.
Srouji’s expanded responsibilities will encompass the oversight of Hardware Engineering, directly reporting to Ternus. Current CEO Tim Cook lauded Srouji’s instrumental role in Apple’s transition to proprietary silicon, emphasizing his profound impact both within the company and across the tech industry.
Johny is one of the most talented people I have ever had the privilege to work with, Cook stated. He has played a singular role in driving Apple’s silicon strategy, and his influence has been felt deeply not just inside the company, but across the industry. He has always led his organization with remarkable deftness and judgment, and time and again, his team has delivered breakthrough innovations that have transformed our products. We are incredibly fortunate to have him as Apple’s chief hardware officer.
Renowned for his leadership in chip development, Srouji has been pivotal in the creation of Apple silicon chips for Mac computers. Under his guidance, the hardware engineering team will manage all aspects of Apple’s hardware products, including product design, system engineering, and rigorous reliability and durability testing.
